ARK Survival Evolved's Genesis DLC is set to start downloading for players later today. But ahead of release, Studio Wildcard have some 'important news' to share.
Ark Survival Evolved players have been waiting some months for the launch of the ARK Genesis expansion, but finally, the day has come.
In just a few short house the developers at Studio Wildcard will release their bold new expansion.
Though the update will add plenty of new features, there's no doubt that having a new map to explore - filled with an active volcano, a snowy mountain, a low-gravity area, a swampy section and an extensive water biome - is top of fans must see new features.
A new map is of course just the tip of the iceberg, with New Creatures, Equipment, Structures and Cosmetics also available.
But as we said, players shouldn't have too much longer to wait. The Ark Genesis release date countdown is now on, with a start time confirmed as 4 PM PST, which is technically midnight for those in the UK.
However, in the lead up to the games new expansion going live, Studio Wildcard has shared what it calls 'important news' with the fanbase ahead of time.
A tweet sent by the developer late last night ominously reads: "Important News Regarding Genesis: Part 1 Launch".
The link lead to the Ark community forums, together with an update on the release of the game from the Studio Wildcard admin.
"As we prepare for launch at 4 PM PST tomorrow, we have some important news for our survivors in the Asian region," the developers began.
"Immediately following the Genesis launch, PS4 survivors in our Asian regions will only be able to access PS4 official servers in the Asian region for a short period.
"We don't expect this exclusion to extend beyond 72 hours, but we will keep you updated with any future developments.
"You will also not be able to join any un-official servers that have updated to a Genesis build due to the content mismatch and the lack of a region-specific Genesis update."
Quite whether the issues with the game's PS4 servers will have an adverse effect on the rest of the game isn't clear, but as N4G.xyz suggests, Studio Wildcard ' operates from a very early-access mentality'.
Meaning you never can really tell what the plan is until the very last moment, so we'd certainly urge that all fans, both devoted and casual, keep an eye on Daily Star and the Twitter account of Wildcard Lead Community Manager Cedric Burkes for the latest information.
Stay tuned for more information later today.
